My Story:
“You are going to love working here.” These were the first words that I heard on my first day at The Co-operators. I had just graduated from university, and like everyone else, I was unsure what I wanted to do. I had heard about The Co-operators through my previous part time job, but I knew very little about the organization. My first day at The Co-operators felt like my first day at school. My nerves were getting the best of me until I heard those seven words from my co-worker, another Licensed Insurance Representative.
I work for a company that believes in supporting my personal and work commitments. The Co-operators promotes this work/life balance from the wholesome approach of understanding that a positive experience outside of work can foster a positive environment at work. I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to manage a company-sponsored co-ed softball team, play offence on our ladies’ soccer team and help lead the Social Committee.
From my own work experience and talking to others outside of the organization, I know these are unique opportunities. Four years later, I am now that person that assures all the new employees with those same seven words.
