A Better Culture
Position: Director, Client Services, Regina, Saskatchewan
Employed since: 2004
What are your training plans for the year? This was one of the first questions my manager asked me when I started with The Co-operators. I was a little surprised that in my first week, my manager was asking how the company was going to help me grow.
That first conversation was just a glimpse into The Co-operators level of commitment to personal and professional growth. As employees, we enjoy some unique benefits. Our Chief Operating Officer formally recognizes our educational successes, we’re reimbursed for books & tuition, we enjoy a paid study day and after passing two exams, we’re treated to a night on the town.
Since I’ve joined The Co-operators, I’ve used several tools to help me develop as a professional. I’ve attended several technical courses to keep up with the latest technologies. Our HR department has given me the tools I need to help plan my career and identify my goals. My manager and VP gave me the encouragement and support I needed to return to University. I’ve been given the opportunity to take the knowledge I’ve gained and applied it to new roles in the organization.
