The Opportunity
The Systems Development Consultant is responsible for providing technical leadership and consulting to the project teams across multiple phases of systems development and technology. Formulates and modifies procedures to solve complex problems. Proposes and designs systems and solutions to address business needs. Instructs, advises and checks the work of other systems developers. Liaises with other technical/functional areas to ensure guidelines are adhered to within development projects. Acts independently under general direction.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience.
- Minimum eight (8) years progressive industry experience in the Information Technology profession.
- Understands overall strategies for Company-wide system architecture and design to ensure all systems integrate as required.
- Knowledge of strategic and tactical plans.
- In-depth knowledge of multiple enterprise applications and the technologies used.
- Excellent people, interaction and communication (written and verbal) skills, business acumen, innovation, organizational assessment, developed leadership skills, well-organized and displays professional credibility.
- In-depth knowledge of multiple enterprise applications and the technologies used.
- Stays current and is very familiar with technology trends and directions.
- Experience leading teams of developers in the delivery of technical solutions to business requests, leading code reviews, developing designs.
- Highly adept at applying analytical problem diagnosis and innovative problem resolution skills to complex problems.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with P&C Insurance.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Java.
- The successful candidate shall be subject to a Criminal Record and Consumer History background check as a condition of employment.
