That, as a business owner, as an insurance agent and financial advisor, financial planner, you know, you’re earning potential could be just about as much as you make it to be.

As an agent you really determine how many zeros are at the end of your paycheque. If you work hard and you do all the right things, really there is no cap.

The sky’s the limit. You’ll make as much as you want to make.

At the same time, it stills gives you the flexibility to do some of the things that you want to do in your own life, personal life, business. Helping coaching a team or if it’s getting involved with the community.

SANDY

I want to be there for my children, for their sports, for their play days and being an agent allows me to do that because I can control my schedule.

CHRIS

Ultimately when you run your own show, and so long as you get the work done it’s really up to you how much time you spend in the office and how much time you spend away.

SANDY

There isn’t really any such thing as a typical day, and that’s what I love about my job because every day is different.

SANTHOORAN

Every day is something new and that’s what makes it so interesting. My days can be anything in the mornings, out there visiting my commercial clients, having lunches with real estate agents or lawyers or accountants, or sitting there meeting my day to day clients who just come in and just want to talk.

CHRIS

You need to be a people person to be an agent with The Co-operators. That being said, you don’t have to be Mr. or Mrs. Super outgoing, somebody that, you know, can just take control of a crowd. You have to care about people and you have to like people.

SANTHOORAN

I really get a kick out of talking to people, meeting people, understanding people, and getting to know people.

When there is a situation where a client needs your help, and they need your help because they’ve had a claim, or they’ve lost a loved one—and I think that’s the part of my job that I love. That I’m able to help those clients when they’re really in need.
